Dromore West Playground The Legion of Mary

Tieragh Branch of Parents and Friends of with Learning Disability

Tieragh Branch of Parents and Friends was set up in November 1976 to raise funds for Cregg House in Sligo. The committee has a dance in March and a sponsored walk in July each year.

St. Farnan's GAA Club

St. Farnan's G.A.A. was founded in 1964 with the amalgamation of the Parishes of Dromore West and Templeboy In 1980 St. Farnan's Community Park was born. Subsequently club rooms and changing facilities were added.

Dromore West/Templeboy I.C.A

The I.C.A was set up in the late 1960's. The committee organise different courses for women in the community e.g. Computer, Art and Craft, Women's Health. They also organise tour. The committee have their monthly meeting in Dromore West Community Centre.

Dromore West/Templeboy support group for North West Hospice

Joint Treasurers: Nora Nealon and Mary Neary

Dromore West/Templeboy North West Hospice committee was set up to raise funds for the North West Hospice in Sligo. The committee hold a dance in November each year. They also sell Christmas cards in the community.

Dromore Villa Soccer Club

Dromore Villa Soccer Club was founded in 1952 by Paddy Browne, Dromore Villa. plays at U-12. U-14, U-16 and Junior level.

St. Bridget's Caring & Sharing Organisation

St. Bridget's Caring & Sharing was set up to visit people living alone. The committee organised a trip to Knock for the Senior Citizen in May. They also have a Christmas party each year.

Dromore West Community Alert

Dromore West Community Alert was set in 1999. The committee got a grant to buy pendants for the elderly living along. Pendant's enables them to get help from a neighbour if needed. The committee also erected signs in the community.

Table Tennis Club Contact Padraig & Maura Hallinan.

This club was set up for children of the area to learn and play table tennis. They play in the Community Centre every Saturday from 5 to 6pm.


Dromore West Central National School Parents Association

The Parents Association was set up September 2004. They raise funds to help with different projects in the National School and with children's outings during the year.


Dromore West Playground

This committee was set up in 2002 to set up a playground in the Dromore West Area. Much fundraising has been carried out locally and together with a grant from Sligo Co Co the Playground was fully completed for Summer 2005.


Dromore West Playgroup - Emer Connolly, Bernie Mullarkey, Mary Gordon.

The committee is presently active in orgainising a play-school in Dromore West. The Playgroup is operating at Oxview.


Dromore West Gymkana Committee - contact Damien O'Reilly

The Gymkana committee was set up in 1991 and they have a very successful gymkana every year on the first Sunday in August

The Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary meets every Monday night. They visit the sick and elderly in their homes. They say the rosary once a week in the graveyard. The committee sell the Irish Catholic Paper every week.


Foroige Annita Scott and Padraig Óg Mulligan

There is a branch of Foróige in the area and they meet every Friday night in the
Community Centre. Their aim is to promote social & cultural and sporting activities for the youth of the rural community.
