Community Games
A new Committee for Community Games was elected in 2005.
Anne Cull, Janette Scott and Caroline Scott.
The Easkey Community Games calendar began in March with the U-14 Quiz night, in the Teeling Centre Collooney. 2 teams represented Easkey very well.
In early April the Art competition took place with all the children creating fabulous pictures
On the U-13 and U-15 girls teams competed in basketball with a lot of hard work and support by all involved
On Sunday 24 th April the annual sports day was held in glorious sunshine in Easkey GAA pitch. It included something for all the family with bouncing castles and novelty sports.
There was a great attendance and the day finished with a closely fought “tug –of- war”
In June several children travelled to Rathcormack NS . for the county Art competition.
Ciara Wall won a GOLD medal in the U-12 girls and would go on to represent Sligo and Easkey in Monsey in the National finals in August. Well done to Ciara
There were also representatives in grass –cycling in Ballinasloe and in swimming in Sligo Sports complex
The athletics finals took place in Sligo in July. The standard was very high and Easkey secured 4 medals.
Rory McHugh won silver in U-6 60m
Claire Duffy won bronze in U-12 100m
Ậine Kavanagh won bronze in U-16 100m
Amanda Browne won bronze in U-14 long puck

Ciara Wall represented Easkey and Sligo in National finals in Art.
The annual Church gate collection and 2 fund raising Bag Packing days held in Dunne’s Stores Ballina were generously supported.
The annual Christmas party was held in Fisherman’s Weir on Sun 11 th Dec. Santa visited and a disco was held for the children. A great time was had by everyone with a raffle and spot prizes
