ACTIVITIES

Exploring Aughris/Templeboy (Cliff Walk)
Explore the rugged Ox Mountains or simply stroll as far as the magnificent cliffs at Coragh Dtonn keeping an eye peeled for the dolphins which are regular visitors to Aughris.
Surfing

With its stunning cliffs and remote beaches exposed to the whole force of the North Atlantic waves, this area provides consistent surf. It is one of the best places in West Sligo if you are looking for some serious big wave surfing, but expect some cold rainy weather! However, the attitude of the local people and the social life in the pubs makes up for this.

The Irish Surfing Association is headquartered nearby in Easkey.

Fishing
The fishing at Aughris is good whether you are simply relaxing with a rod at Aughris Pier or are a more adventurous fisher and take advantage of the fishing boat trips provided by local fishermen.
Bird Sanctuary
The cliffs of the Coragh Dtonn and the surrounding coastal area provide a nesting place for many different sea birds. Aughris Head and Inishmurray Island are two local areas often visited by the keen bird watcher.
Community Activities
Aerobics: Takes place every week during the summer in the local St. Mary's Parish Hall.
IFA: Local farmers meet regularly to discuss local agricultural issues.
ICA: Ask Kathleen Howley or Ann Kerins
